The Hursley Road Dental Practice was established in 1975 having been converted from an old dairy. It has gradually expanded and updated over the years to now offer seven modern surgeries with a clinical team of five dentists, four hygienists and eight dental nurses with the support of our receptionists, dedicated decontamination nurse and practice administrators.
We are an independently owned private practice. Our aim is to offer the highest quality of dental care in a relaxed manner to the whole family.

Neil trained at Guys Dental Hospital and has worked in general practice since qualifying in 1993. He achieved the Diploma in general dental practice in 1998 and joined Hursley Road full-time in 2000.
Nick studied at Kings College in Central London and qualified in 1998. After working in Wales and Thatcham he joined the practice in 2003, becoming a principal dentist in 2007. Nick is married with 2 young sons and enjoys skiing, cycling and long walks with the family.
Richard qualified in 1986 from King’s College, London. He is extremely experienced in all areas of General Practice having worked in practices in Thatcham, Wantage and Winchester. Richard has undertaken further training in Invisalign, so is able to offer this as a way of straightening teeth with clear removable braces. He is married with six children. In his spare time he likes to keep fit by swimming and cycling regularly, and is a keen supporter of AFC Bournemouth.
Sam qualified in 2017 from the University of Central Lancashire. After completing her foundation training year in Northumberland she moved to Gloucestershire where she worked in general practice. In her spare time Sam enjoys going to the theatre and walking her dog with her husband and daughter.
Lauren trained at King’s College Dental School, London where she was awarded the Jelf Medal and the Dental Circle Award. She has worked in private practice since 2013 previously in London, The New Forest and Winchester. Lauren enjoyed creating a relaxed and friendly environment for her patients, your comfort is very important to her. Lauren lives in the New Forest with her young daughter and enjoys dog walking, yoga, swimming and endurance running.
Aaron joined us in May 2022. He trained at Cardiff University Dental School, qualifying in 2014 and has since gained a master’s degree in Prosthodontics from UCLAN in 2021. Aaron has gained experience straingthening teeth and a multitude of cosmetic interventions. He has worked in General Practice in Berkshire and the North West as well as working in cosmetic private practice. Originally from Eastleigh, attending Thornden School and Peter Symonds College, Aaron has relocated back to the South coast.
Our hygienists will give you the best possible advice in oral health, including instructions on how to maintain the health of you teeth and gums.
Justine qualified in 1998 from the School of Dental Hygiene at Bristol Dental Hospital. She worked for 5 years in specialist periodontal practice and has since worked in private practice with a particular interest in caring for patients needing more advanced periodontal treatment.
Claire qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1993 gaining a diploma in dental hygiene. On qualification she received the award for dental health education. Claire joined Hursley Road Dental Practice in July 2010. She has extensive experience in general practice enjoying the challenge of initial treatments and dental health education. Claire enjoys tailor making cleaning routines to suit individual patients knowing that including the patient as part of the team is the key to success.
Amy qualified from the Portsmouth University Dental Academy in 2014 with a BSc in Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. Before gaining her hygiene qualifications, Amy started her career as a dental nurse here at the Hursley Road Dental Practice in 2010. After some time she wished to advance within the field by taking her studies further and was then able to return here to work as a hygienist. Amy enjoys educating and treating children as well as easing anxious patients into dental treatment.
Wendy qualified as a Dental Hygienist from The Royal London Dental Hospital in 1991. She has gained experience by working in various settings such as the Community Dental Service, the NHS and more recently in private practice. Her hobbies include sailing, walking and gardening whilst supporting her husband and two teenagers.

Our well trained Dental Nurses are all registered with the General Dental Council and carry out continuing professional education. We follow the latest cross infection guidelines as your safety is paramount.
Our dedicated Decontamination Nurse is responsible for the effective cleaning and sterilisation of our instruments.
